a pint of brown and mild.
The nurse had left the curtain open so I watched Belinda
talking to the doctor. He touched her arm as he explained the prognosis. Five
minutes later, she was by my side.
‘He says it’s
a clean break. It will mend and you’ll be able to play again.’
Four days
later, she collected me and drove me home. As soon as I was settled, she told me
it was over. A clean break would be best for both of us.
That was last
season. I push myself in training, praying that Dr. Ruston also plays rugby for
a local team.
