strong black tea
So near to the Sun now but unlike Icarus, I was not going to go too high. I
knew when to stop. I planned my flight to the last detail. At a certain
altitude I would automatically descend so there was no risk of my repeating
Icarus’s mistake.
I
knew better than to let pride get the better of me.
Well,
I thought I did.
I
am plummeting to earth as I dictate this into my recording machine.
And
I realise there was one thing I had forgotten in my haste to prove myself.
I
forgot to check nobody else had chance to interfere with my flying machine.
The
last thing I remember seeing before I became airborne was Resbane creeping out
of the shed where I kept my device. Resbane who had been dumped by his
girlfriend, Strenna, only a day or so ago because she’d found someone new.
That
someone new was me.
I
guess she will be going back to him after all.
