The Kooky Cat

by Wendy Pike

takeaway latte

The kooky cat who enjoys going for a drive,

But only with her humans Doris and Clive,

Rides in complete luxury in a big, silver car,

Chauffeured around like a feline rock star.

The cute ginger tabby who relishes road journeys,

Chaperones her family in their massive Mercedes.

When she tires of the scenery and fancies a nap,

She favours the dashboard shelf over Doris lap.

The marmalade cat who savours adventure,

Joins her people for a morning thirst quencher.

She happily escorts them to elevenses coffee,

But insists shes home in time for her tuna fish tea.

The friendly puss who loves trips to the cafe,

Waits in the car whilst Clive gets a takeaway.

She and Doris peer through the glass to spy,

Other humans and cars busily rushing by.

The curious kitty who embraces each escapade,

Vexed her folks when she took flight and strayed,

Outside the car by the coffee shop, into the road,

Straight into the path of a lorry!   Luckily, it slowed.

The fearless moggie who delights in danger,

Found herself in a jam, until a kindly stranger,

The cat-loving trucker, plucked her from harm,

Gently tucking lucky puss under his muscly arm.

The naughty mouser who simply longs to explore,

Was scolded for wandering through the open door,

And half scaring to death dear, doting Doris and Clive,

Who were so relieved shed returned to them still alive.

The kooky cat who enjoys going for a drive,

But only with her humans Doris and Clive,

Rides in complete luxury in a big silver car,

Chauffeured around like a feline rock star.
