What’s in a Name?
Everyone around the fire said their names and something interesting about themselves.
As soon as they had dispersed, Michael noticed the young lady with brown eyes that looked like sparkling amber in the firelight. ‘Carly, right?’
She cocked her head.
‘That’s not right, is it?’ Michael facepalmed. ‘Aw man, I was trying so hard to remember.’
‘Well, there were a lot of names.’
‘Yeah.’
She left a long silence – just for fun, she told him later – before saying, ‘It is Carly. You’re Michael.’
She couldn’t remember the interesting thing about him, but he was more than happy to remind her.
